A Visit Home (for
reallyoldguy)
Jul. 6th, 2006 10:26 pmThey'd landed in San Antonio in the early afternoon, and without any checked bags, it'd been easy enough to shuffle the both of the to the rental desk to pick up their car. Fred had impulsively upgraded her reservation to a convertible, once she'd figured out that she wouldn't be going alone, though she honestly had no idea if Methos would enjoy that or not. But it seemed possible at least, and there was a certain smell to home that she was looking forward to driving full into.
Fred was pretty sure she'd been talking to herself too, for a least the last few hours. She wasn't even sure exactly what all had been said, but her high school fight song was almost definitely in there. Her address too, as if she'd ever forget that.
But keeping busy, at least verbally, gave her time to work up into a small confession. Trying to shrug away hair that whipped around her, Fred turned to her passanger.
"...did I mention I didn't tell them we were coming?"
