3. Good Morning [Text/Open]

Pancakes for breakfast, and downright friendly ones at that. Not that they're inherently rude to begin with, it wouldn't be proper to start the morning off like that. Still, these are just about perfect.

I think it's going to be a good day.

[.....]

Mine were pretty stationary?

Mine were extremely accusatory.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-08 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
Are you sure you're not, you know, maybe feeling guilty about something else? Breakfast food usually isn't so predatory.

I shouldn't think so. They were nearly as bad as those snakes in that Snakes and Ladders game.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-09 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
...are you sure you're alright?

[Not that she doesn't specialize in her own brand of crazy]

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, of course miss.

I'm Constable George Crabtree.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-09 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't have to call me miss...

I'm Fred. It's nice to meet you.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my goodness. I am so terribly sorry: I was under the impression you were a female.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-09 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...I am? It's short for Winifred. But everyone calls me Fred. I just meant...

I'm not a 'miss'?

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhh. I see. I didn't think I'd make that sort of mistake again.

Is this a modern issue, or is there some other reason?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-10 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
A modern issue? [She doesn't quite understand]

I guess I just never felt like it fit. My name, I mean. I like Fred.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'm from 1897. But I certainly don't have any problem addressing people inappropriately, if they'd prefer.

This has made me grin. The whole thing...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-10 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we're about a hundred years a part then give or take. Do you really think it's inappropriate?

That's what Georges are for.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
It takes a bit of getting used to. Where I come from, calling a woman by her Christian name isn't something one enters into lightly. But I also enjoy trying new things.

:)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-10 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if it makes you feel any better you wouldn't be calling me by my Christian name. Not exactly?

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
A nickname is even more scandalous.

I'm sorry to say I don't really have one.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-10 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
...scandalous? You really think Fred is scandalous?

[Shaking that off]

Is it okay if I call you George?

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no. People where I come from would consider calling a woman a nickname in public scandalous.

Of course. That's what everybody calls me.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_fredless/ 2011-07-10 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I promise not to be scandalized.

And I'm glad we met, George.
